Harry J. Walter, DO (COM '65) Scholarship

Darwin J. Strickland, DO (COM ’65) and his wife, Suzanne, established this scholarship in honor of Harry J. Walter, DO (COM ’65). With his commissioning into the U.S. Air Force in 1966, Dr. Walter became the first osteopathic physician commissioned into the military, officially opening the door for thousands of future DOs to proudly serve their country. Following his discharge from the Air Force, Dr. Walter helped a group of osteopathic physicians re-establish licensing for DOs in California.
